USAf’s CoPAL pays tribute to the late Prof Gregory Kamwendo
On 22 May, 2018, a highly-esteemed sociolinguistics academic, Professor Gregory Kamwendo, was shot dead outside his Empangeni home in KwaZulu Natal. At their 14 June meeting that was hosted at Nelson Mandela University, Universities South Africa’s Community of Practice on the Teaching and Learning of African Languages (CoPAL) dedicated time to paying tribute to a very dear and sorely missed colleague.
